We at RouterFreak are thrilled to share the results of our 2025 audience survey. First and foremost, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who took the time to participate. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us understand your needs, preferences, and challenges in the ever-evolving world of network engineering.

As a community-driven platform, your input is crucial in shaping the direction of our content. This survey has provided us with rich insights into the topics you’re most interested in, the formats you prefer, and the areas where you feel you need more support in your professional development.

In this post, we’ll break down the key findings from the survey and discuss how we plan to use this information to enhance your RouterFreak experience. From emerging technologies to practical how-to guides, we’re committed to delivering content that resonates with your professional needs and interests.

Let’s dive into what we’ve learned about our community and how it will influence our future content strategy.

Oh, and one more note, our survey is still open! Please provide us your feedback and we’ll periodically scope up the results to update our content strategy.

Current Job Role in IT

Much to our relief, 65% of our respondents were Network Engineers. It’s great to know that we are surrounded by fellow Engineers!

Years of Experience in the IT Field

We have a decent distribution of junior and senior IT professionals. With 9 respondents with over 30 years of experience, we may be skewing to a slightly older audience but I appreciate the experience and insights those individuals can bring to our community. Or is it that the younger professionals don’t take surveys?

Range: 1 – 42 years

Average: 24.1 years

Where are you located

North America is our preponderance of respondents at 89.5%.

Industry Sectors

While telecommunications is main sector 31.5%, the rest of the responses were fairly evenly distributed.

Certifications Held

It doesn’t surprise us at all the Cisco is leading the way here.

Certifications Pursuing

AWS Certs are making an impressive showing in what our respondents are pursuing for their next certifications.

Most Valuable Content

This question is the highlight for us at RouterFreak. We are taking a look at our content strategy and your responses are guiding our current planning to focus on Troubleshooting guides, In-depth technical articles, and certification preparation materials.

We used a point system to convert survey responses into a ranking, see the results below:

Have you used RouterFreak Content in your Workplace or School?

We are proud of the value we are providing 60% of our respondents who said they have used our content in their workplace or school. I appreciate a couple of the comments that said they used RouterFreak to share concepts or troubleshooting procedures with coworkers.

How often would you like to receive newsletters?

Looks like the overwhelming ask is for weekly newsletters! We are currently on a bi-weekly schedule, but if I can get more content writers to assist us, we’ll get there! And who is this true Freak who wants a daily newsletter from us?!
